18" wide

A backlighted layered-glass panel in a case of African Mahogany trimmed with
Hawaiian curly Koa and African Wenge.
The color intensity and translucency changes depending on the ambient light in the
room, closely resembling hot, flowing pahoehoe lava in similar natural light.

The lava is seen flowing from two different glowing tubes. In the distance,
there is the green of a kipuka, a small area of forest spared by the lava flow.

Below is a detail photo showing more of the case. This piece was designed
to display as elegantly in a corner as well as against a flat wall. The lighting
switch is located on the top of the sloping back panel where it
is out of sight from the front, but easily accessible.

These pieces are individually hand made with extraordinary attention to detail. Each is unique,
completely original and all patterns for each are destroyed when the project is complete.
There are some similarities between some of the lamps, but there are no two alike.
Each is signed by the artist and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
