Pahoehoe

A backlighted glass panel in a case of Australian ash and koa. The color intensity and

translucency changes depending on the ambient light in the room, closely resembling hot,

flowing pahoehoe lava in similar natural light. The smooth, organic lines in the

glass do an amazing job of portraying flowing lava.

 

Below is a detail photo showing more of the case. The Australian ash used in this

case was grown on the artist's property in Hilo.
