Kipuka
17" wide
Another backlighted glass panel in a case of African Mahogany and Koa.
The almost-black trim wood it wenge.

The lava is seen flowing from a glowing hot tube at the upper left. At the lower right
it divides around an intensely hot roll of A'a lava. Here and there, the windows
in the cooling lava reveal glimpses of what lies beneath.

In the distance, there is the green of a kipuka, a small area of
forest spared by the lava flow.

Below is a detail photo showing more of the case. The case is finished
with multiple coats of hand-polished lacquer.

These pieces are individually hand made with extraordinary attention to detail. Each is unique,
completely original and all patterns for each are destroyed when the project is complete.
There are some similarities between some of the lamps, but there are no two alike.
Each is signed by the artist and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
